Jiawen Chen is Program Associate of ClimateWorks Foundation’s Beijing Office, where she provides research and consultation support in strategy formation and funder collaboration in China.
Jiawen has more than five years of policy research experience in think-tanks and UN agencies in the Netherlands and China. Before joining ClimateWorks, Jiawen worked as a Policy and Research Officer at the United Nations Development Programme China office. She worked with colleagues across diverse project teams on research projects and policy notes. Topics included international development cooperation, green finance, universal basic income, hydrogen development, poverty alleviation, socio-economic impact of COVID-19, gender equity, inclusive low-carbon transition, among others.
Jiawen is currently a part-time Ph.D. fellow in Policy Analysis at Maastricht University and UNU-MERIT. She holds an M.Sc. in International Relations and Diplomacy from Leiden University, and a B.A. in Art and Design from Fudan University.
Xia Ding is the Operations Manager of ClimateWorks Foundation’s Beijing Office. She has 14 years of experience working at foreign and domestic NGOs, including the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative and the Earthworm Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Textile Engineering and Business from the Beijing United University, Business College.
Qiuxia is a Senior Program Associate for ClimateWorks’ Beijing Office. Qiuxia supports the grant portfolio in the areas of strategic communications and field building in China. She also assists with the development and implementation of communications strategies for CWF in China.
Qiuxia previously worked with different environmental NGOs, including Clean Air Asia, Greenpeace, and grassroots NGOs in China. She has experience creating impactful narrative and campaigns for positive environmental changes.
Qiuxia holds a BA in international journalism and communications from Beijing Foreign Studies University and an MBA in social enterprise management from Peking University.
Xiaohua is the Head/Director of ClimateWorks Beijing Office where he manages the overall operation of the office and our direct grantmaking to support climate action in China.
Prior to joining ClimateWorks Foundation, he was the senior policy advisor on climate action and cooperation in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, headed the International Cooperation Department of China’s National Centre for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation and served as program officer of UNFCCC secretariat. He started his career as the assistant researcher in Tsinghua University.
He has a Ph.D in nuclear engineering from Tsinghua University.
