The Benefits and Need for Global Energy Innovation

During this webinar, recorded on October 12th, 2021, we explored how low-carbon energy innovation can help avoid a costly and disruptive pathway toward net-zero emissions. Recognizing innovation is inherently unpredictable, we convened various experts to discuss the role of evidence-backed decision-making under deep uncertainty, and the possibility to guide innovation to where is most beneficial for the energy transition. This was an important opportunity prior to COP26 to hear from leaders in the field of energy decarbonization and technological innovation, and to review cutting edge research on the benefits of innovation and the level of investment required.

This event launched Phase 1 of the Global Innovation Needs Assessments (GINAs) with the landmark energy and land use synthesis report.
