Heatwaves, floods, droughts, and various economic shocks are already testing the world’s ability to adapt to climate change. Philanthropy has a vital role to play in helping communities build resilience and protect lives, livelihoods, and ecosystems.
At COP28 in Dubai, ClimateWorks Foundation and leading funders launched a Call to Action to accelerate work on adaptation. Building on that momentum, ClimateWorks, along with other funders, now convenes the Adaptation and Resilience Collaborative for Funders (ARC), a group of more than 70 foundations of varying sizes and scopes that engage in shared learning to advance philanthropy’s role in addressing the risks and impacts of climate change.
Advancing shared learning and impact
Since COP28, participating foundations have:

Released new philanthropic adaptation funding landscape reports to share progress and identify opportunities to strengthen impact.
Developed tools and shared insights that inform catalytic philanthropic action.
