Monique Rao is a Grants Specialist on the Finance team at ClimateWorks Foundation, where she supports grantmaking, project management, and monitoring and evaluation for the team’s growing portfolio which aims to green the financial system.
Monique has over 6 years’ experience spanning across sectors — supporting for-profits, local governments, nonprofits, NGOs, and UN Agencies alike in areas such as research, monitoring and evaluation, grant writing, facilitation, and strategy. Most recently, she was grantmaking sexual and reproductive health projects across Latin America and East Africa at the Erik E. and Edith H. Bergstrom Foundation. She completed the last credits of her master’s degree interning with the Evaluation Section at UNICEF Cambodia, where she made recommendations to incorporate child-led participatory methods for their upcoming Child Protection Evaluation.
Monique has an MA in International Policy and Development with a focus on Program and Policy Research and Evaluation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. She holds a BA in Political Science with a minor in Ethics from California State University, Chico.
