Kevin Currey is a Program Officer for CLUA’s Global and Mexico and Central America Initiatives. Kevin has worked with CLUA since 2013, first as a Ford Foundation Program Analyst, focused on expanding community land and forest rights and promoting climate change policies that benefit low-income rural communities, and later as a consultant supporting CLUA’s Global and Mesoamerican work. Kevin has also consulted for the United Nations Development Programme, advising on the creation of its biodiversity strategic plan and developing new work on sustainable development in the Amazon. He began his career in rural Kenya, working with communities to address conflicts with large carnivores. Kevin holds a masters of environmental management degree from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, where he studied the anthropology of development and conservation, and an undergraduate degree from Yale in environmental studies. He is based in New York.
