Overview
As part of the abatement landscape and policy tracking work under the ClimateWorks Foundation’s Global View, ClimateWorks has developed a sophisticated tool under the rubric Carbon Transparency Initiative (CTI) – to provide a transparent, granular, and methodologically consistent greenhouse gas emissions scenario. Country models were developed with many partners for Brazil, China, EU, India, Mexico, and the US to track decarbonization progress over time, compare the current trajectory of a country’s GHG emissions to its national targets (and the Nationally Determined Contributions – NDCs), and compare performance across nations.
In this workshop policy practitioners, global and regional experts, and philanthropy partners will share and discuss insights on national and global greenhouse gas trends, and implications for our collective work on tracking progress of policy implementation and its impact on emissions. Part of our workshop will be co-hosted with the ClimateWorks’ Clean Power Program.
We hope funders, regional partners, and the expert community can learn from each other, and philanthropy can gain insights on barriers to achieving low carbon goals (e.g. tools, finance, political, social, capacity, technical assistance), and how we might best support work in this space.
